ZONING HEARING BOARD - PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the ZONING HEARING BOARD will have a meeting in TOWN HALL, 10 E. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA, on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 7:00 PM for the purpose of hearing the following appeals.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR AT THE MEETING

1. 825 12th Avenue
Appeal of applicant Pennsylvania Venture Capital, LLC challenging the Zoning Officer’s denial of a 192.9 sq. ft., on-premises digital wall sign permit for the vacant Synthetic Threads building. The applicant was granted a use variance on April 27, 2010 for an apartment redevelopment. The denial is based on the definition of an On Premises Sign, which refers to “a sign which directs attention to a person, business, profession, occupation or activity conducted on the same lot”. The replacement of the nonconforming 180 sq. ft. existing non-illuminated painted wall sign with a larger 192.9 sq. ft. internally illuminated digital wall sign is also prohibited (180 sq. ft. existing, 100 sq. ft. permitted, 192.9 sq. ft. proposed). 2. 408 N. New Street
Appeal of owner Wendy L. Thomson for a Special Exception to establish a Home Professional Office (psychotherapeutic counseling services) at her residence. [Articles 1307.02(c)(1), 1325.07, 1325.08(h)]

This appeal has been postponed until the February 22, 2012 meeting.


3. 821 Prospect Avenue
Appeal of property owners Dean and Amy Rinehart for a Special Exception to establish a Home Professional Office (individual and marriage counseling) at their residence. [Articles 1305.02(c)(2), 1325.07, 1325.08(h)]
