Notice is hereby given that the ZONING HEARING BOARD will have a meeting in Town Hall, 10 E. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 7:00 PM, for the purpose of hearing the following appeals.

1. 916 William Street
Appeal of Scott Lee Frey for a dimensional variance to reconstruct an existing non-conforming covered front porch and add a 28’ x 6’ uncovered/covered porch into the front yard setback attached to a single family detached dwelling. Allowable setback – 23.3’, proposed – 11’. (Articles 1304.02.a, 1304.03, 1318.01, Table A-1, 1318.09, 1318.11, 1318.12, 1323.02.a, 1323.04.c, 1325.06)

Appeal of Keith Young for a special exception to increase the living space for a lawful non-conforming use, a single family detached dwelling. Allowable expansion – 50%, proposed – 15%. (Articles 1310.02, 1323.02.b, 1323.04, 1323.07, 1325.07)

3. 2431 Easton Avenue
Appeal of Khairunisa and Mubina Gangji for a special exception to expand a lawful non-conforming use (dental office) with two one-story additions, a 12’ x 15’10” (192 square foot) addition, and an 8’ x 22’ (176.5 square foot) addition. The 12’ x 15’10” addition was Zoning Hearing Board approved in 2006, but not built. Allowable expansion – 50%, previous and proposed expansion – 27.63%, Allowable building coverage – 35%, proposed – 33%. (Articles 1306.02, 1306.03, 1318.01, 1323.04, 1325.07)

Appeal of Gregory and Kathleen Bassett for a special exception and a dimensional variance from the rear yard setback to expand the second floor living space of a lawful non-conforming building. Present use on this corner lot is a single family detached dwelling. Required rear yard – 30’, existing – 20’6”; allowable expansion – 50% or 242.25 square feet, proposed – 64.7% or 313.5 square feet. 5. 902-904 Wood Street
Appeal of Scott Uff for dimensional variances from the parking, area, yard, and building regulations to create a two-lot subdivision, each lot having a single family semi-detached dwelling. Currently a two-dwelling unit is on the lot. Required development area – 5,000 square feet, proposed – 3,900 square feet; required area per dwelling unit – 2,500 square feet, proposed – (lot-1) 1,725 square feet, (lot-2) 2,167 square feet; required parking per dwelling – 2 spaces, proposed on lot 1 – 0 spaces, lot 2 – 1 space.
