Notice is hereby given that the ZONING HEARING BOARD will
have a meeting in Town Hall, 10 E. Church Street, Bethlehem,
PA, on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 7:00 PM, for the purpose
of hearing the following appeals.

1. 615 Spring Street - Continued from May 28th
Appeal of Linda Bermudez for a special exception to have a
child’s day care in the home. Also, a variance from
the off-street parking requirement. Required parking –3
spaces, proposed – 2 spaces. (Articles 1308.02.c.1 refers

Appeal of Jama M. Barker for use and dimensional variances
for an 8 lot subdivision, each lot is proposing a one family
semi-detached dwelling. Residential Use is not permitted in
the Institutional (I) Zoning District. Minimum development
area – 5 acres, proposed – all 8 lots are deficient,
the smallest having 2927 SF, .067 acres, the largest, 5725
SF, .131 acres. Minimum lot depth – 100’, proposed
– lot 2, 85’, lot 3, 97’. Required side
yard setback – 20’, proposed one side –
approximately 6’, other side – 0’. (Articles

Appeal of David Rehrig for a dimensional variance from the

Appeal of the Sofia Decena for a special exception to expand
an existing daycare center to another building on the property.

Appeal of Michael and Nicole Givey for a sign area variance
and dimensional variance from the front yard setback to install
a free standing sign for a recently zoning approved insurance
office. Commercial signage is not permitted for this proposed
use. Allowable signage – 0 SF, proposed – 15 SF.
Required setback – 25’; proposed – 6’.

Appeal of Veranda Real Estate, LP for the following variances:
1. Use regulations – to permit a bank/financial institution
within the Residential District. (Article 1308.02.a) 2. To
reduce the required front yard setback from 15’ to 9.1’
(Articles 1308.03, 1318.01, Table A-2) 3. To allow parking
within 4.9’ of a property line which is not also a street
line in lieu of the minimum 10’ permitted. (Articles
1308.04, 1319.03.f) 4. To allow two free standing commercial
signs which are not permitted for the proposed use. Both sign
proposals are in the building setback area, and the monument
sign at Hayes Street and Evans Street is in the required sight
triangle. Allowable signage 0 SF, proposed 26.17 SF and 24.7
